2022 Academy Awards

Let's start off with Jada Pinkett Smith wearing this breathtaking emerald gown from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2022 Haute Couture collection. The color is so flawless on her, & for a woman of Jada's height, she suits this heavy gown perfectly. I remember seeing this gown from the collection wondering who would wear it, and this was very unexpected for me to see Jada in it. Definitely, my favorite look of the night.

Zendaya wearing custom Valentino Haute Couture. I was kind of a little skeptical of her look but I think I've grown to love it over the past few hours. I think she looks stunning while also channeling this Todd Oldham Spring/ Summer 1995 look. I think the skirt is what makes this look a little weird to me, I wish the skirt was maybe a different fabric of sequins (I can't put my finger on it but it's something). Nonetheless, Zendaya looks beautiful.

Zoe Kravitz channeled her inner Audrey Hepburn in this custom Saint Laurent gown.  I enjoy Zoe's style but I have to admit that I was kind of expecting somewhat a little bit more from her, especially with her being the Catwoman.

Megan Thee Stallion wearing Gaurav Gupta. Meg has been really doing it for me lately, and this look is the icing on the cake. She looks so gorgeous, and this gown is a dream! With the way the gown is structured, the ruffles, the accessories, her makeup, her hair, Meg looks fantastic. She looks elegant all while not comprising her personal style.

Jessica Chastain is a dream in this Gucci gown. Such a unique gown that I probably wouldn't dare like on anyone else, but Jessica really makes this dress look fun, outstanding, and beautiful. I love that the gown isn't overly done with accessories as well. I love that she didn't play it safe especially with her taking home the Oscar Award.

Demi Singleton wearing Miu Miu. Demi looks beautiful & the way this color just pops on her skin is breathtaking. I will say that I wish the bustier was different because it looks odd with her frame but nonetheless I love this look. The detailing is also really good.

Lily James absolutely nailing this Atelier Versace Fall 2021 dress. The color, the design and construction, her hair, and simple accessories, she killed this look.

Timothée Chalamet in Louis Vuitton. This look is fun, youthful, and definitely a risk that didn't miss. It works really well for him, it stays true to his personal style, and he always gets it right.

Uma Thurman opted for simplicity in this Bottega Veneta by Matthieu Blazy look. This would definitely be a bore on anyone else but this look suites for Uma quite well. It's not groundbreaking but it's nice, simple, & chic.

Billie Eilish wearing Gucci. I like this but I don't like it, I don't know what's wrong here. I love the ruffles and the dark hair, and I love that she looks original but something looks off here.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wearing Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring/ Summer 2022. I'm so shocked that she was one of the only people to wear Schiaparelli! I just had a feeling that this collection would be all over the carpet but I was wrong.

Cynthia Erivo wearing a custom Louis Vuitton. I love this look on her; it's fun, bold, elegant, yet true to Erivo's personal style. Cynthia has kind of become known for her dramatic looks but she kind of toned it down last night. Typically with Louis Vuitton red carpet looks, they're always a heavy hit or miss but in my opinion, this really hits. I really enjoyed this.

Regina Hall wearing Vera Wang. She looks gorgeous, and that color looks so beautiful on her but I do think that another color would've really made this look bolder, especially for the occasion.

Lupita N'Yongo wearing Prada. She looks absolutely beautiful, especially her braids and makeup really top this off. The only thing I don't like about this gown is the elbow sleeves, I wish it were sleeveless. I also wish the tinsels were all facing the same direction.

Tiffany Haddish in Dolce & Gabbana. I hate this fashion house but I have to admit that she looks really stunning. I love Tiffany's hair & makeup especially.

Rachel Zegler wearing Christian Dior Haute Couture. I'm enjoying the gown but the choker kind of throws me off. Also, the underwear could have been different.

Serena Williams wearing Gucci and I love this look on her. With the color, the signature Gucci gloves, her makeup, and her bob, she looks awesome.

Tracee Ellis Ross wearing Carolina Herrera. I'm so disappointed because I love Tracee and she's always killing it. I think she looks pretty but this look just isn't working for me. The dress is so ill-fitting and honestly just unflattering.

Another Bottega Veneta look was brought out last night worn by Kodi Smit-McPhee. I think this may be my favorite menswear look of the night. He really stood out, & took a risk with this tuxedo. I love how the tie was replaced with the Cartier jewelry. Styled by Jared Eng Studios.

Halle Bailey in Roberto Cavalli and Chloe Bailey in LVDF... I just don't understand why here? I think Halle looks pretty in her blue Cavalli gown but so not the right occasion to wear something like this. Chloe's look is so tacky to me, and I'm so disappointed in her style all around. Chloe and Hailey are so talented but I wish their teams would do a better job at making these ladies look like the stars that we all know they can be.

Caitriona Balfe wearing custom Louis Vuitton. I think she looks beautiful from the neck up but this all-around just is not a good look. There are a lot of things gone wrong here. This is a failed execution of a slip dress that had the potential to be stunning. It's very underwhelming and unflattering. The color, the ruffles, the fit, the design and construction, and the material just look awful here.

Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive. Nothing unexpected as usual...

Venus Williams wearing Elie Saab. The neckline is horrible and Hautelemode pointed out the white fabric hiding behind the silver lining that looks like it's there to prevent a nip slip, and now I can't unsee that part of the gown. This could've had potential and the white is flawless on her skin but the neckline really was a disappointment.

Mila Kunis in Zuhair Murad. She looks beautiful but the gown looks a bit dated, the creases in the fabric are awful, and I think the belt wasn't needed.
