Alexander McQueen Fall 2022

Sarah Burton never lets us down with these collections. I believe that it's time to drop Alexander's name from the brand and just let it be McQueen. There will never be another Lee McQueen, but the fashion house needs to continue to live on. Many people compare Sarah to Lee by comparing the work between the two, when Sarah is simply a more modern & wearable version. There's no reason for Sarah to emulate Lee's work.

This incredible collection featured various references of McQueens older pieces from the Voss collection, Highland Rape, La Poupée, & the Spring/ Summer 1999, No. 13 collection. Sarah was inspired by the "bright colors of mushrooms she was looking at one day." She was also inspired by mycelium and the "wood wide web," how underground fungi networks communicate with plants to transfer water, carbon, nutrients, & minerals.
